Dr. Ingrid Crowther, as Executive Director of Lifelong Learn, and her team of experts have extensive experiences in the early and elementary school years and adults.  Dr. Crowther and her team offer their expertise to facilitate knowledge and skill development of adults caring for, or teaching young children to embrace quality concepts in all interactions and programming for children.

Adult Education

You are never too old to go back to the classroom. Lifelong Learn can get you back up to speed no matter what your prior level of education. We offer choices that suit your needs, aiming to provide an optimal educational experience to all who desire it, irrispective of age. Adult education options include:

Essential Skills

Our jobs and our lives are constantly evolving, making the need to learn new skills an essential part of what we do.  Identification of essential skills and evolving skills related to specific disciplines is an essential step. Our services include:

• Development of essential skills related to a specific discipline
• Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure accuracy
• Development of hierarchy of skills to build success
• Authentic assessment of essential skill levels and evaluation of those skills

Teacher Education

Teachers are in a continuous learning cycle. As curriculum and the student needs change, teachers need to adjust, improve, or enhance their skills to reflect the changing times. Lifelong Learn provides educational learning opportunities that include the following options:

• Early Years: Childcare education and early childhood training for anyone presently working with, or planning to work with infants, toddlers and pre-school children.

• Elementary School Years: Program development and training for individuals who work with children from Kindergarten until Grade 8.

• Individuals with Special Needs: Programs and resources for those who want to work with individuals with special needs, of all ages.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Regardless of where we come from, our education shapes us into who we are. Lifelong Learn can help individuals develop a portfolio to identify skills, kmowledge, and attitudes gained through life and work experiences. Our services include:

• Building skill sets to demonstrate and validate learning
• Building authentic outcomes and competencies
• Developing a process to recognize demonstration of learning from experiences
• Building the institutional capacity to engage in RPL
• Training for RPL process and assessment
